David Casa has been active in politics for the last fifteen years. His political career started in the trade unionistic sector as he was Secretary of the youth section of the Confederation of the Malta Trade Unions, member of the CMTU National Council and of the Central Committee of the MUBE. In 1990 he was asked by Prof. Guido de Marco, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Justice to form part of his private secretariat as his Personal Assistant. During these years David accompanied President Censu Tabone , Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Guido de Marco on various State and Official visits abroad. David followed the process of membership since its inception . In 1999 when Professor de Marco became President, David was the inter-ministerial coordinator for E.U. matters in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was involved in Malta’s negotiations with the European Union through MUESAC. David was founder and Secretary General of the IVA MALTA FL-EWROPA MOVEMENT. He visited all the towns and villages in Malta and Gozo to persuade people to vote YES to Europe in the 2003 Referendum. It was here where David worked closely with Dr. Lawrence Gonzi today’s Prime Minister and Joe Saliba the Nationalist Party’s Secretary General. In 2003 David was appointed Executive Secretary of MUESAC and therefore is still involved in Malta’s relationship with the European Union now as members. David was and still is consistent in his arguments regarding the E.U. and for this reason he was chosen to be on the P.N. list in the forthcoming European Parliament elections. The 12th of June is an invitation for you to have a stronger voice in Europe by voting for David Casa.
